1. Freeze the design basis before coordinating details

Start with the current architectural plans and sections, proposed stair type, floor-to-floor relationship, landings, guard concept, tread and metal finish intent, project location, and list of responsible parties. Mark every item that is still conceptual. A rendering is useful for intent but does not replace accepted geometry or responsibilities.

3. Coordinate structure, embeds, framing, and anchors

Separate the stair fabricator's supplied steel from the building support and site installation scope. Identify who designs and verifies the supporting structure, embeds, plates, blocking, anchors, and surrounding repair. Define inspection or photo hold points before connections are concealed.

Do not infer structural adequacy from the visual size of a stringer or bracket. The responsible professionals must confirm the actual project conditions and documents.

4. Route electrical decisions before closure

If the project includes tread, wall, handrail, or landing lighting, coordinate fixture type, location concept, cabling or conduit route, drivers, controls, service access, finish interfaces, testing, and replacement access before drywall.
